Off for a bit
21 October 2011
Just back from NY and by contrast, me and Tom Andrew are off to Kenya to shoot for Riders for Health once more. I find leaving home very hard these days, but when Riders call - I must answer! We've a full and fantastical range of duties to perform, a mighty shot list of stories and action shots and portraits to capture so we'll be working hard, but I'll try and blog as we go so you can see what we're up to. My web stats tell me a fair few folk out there are monitoring my progress so here's hoping you'll enjoy what you see over the forthcoming week. Cheers everyone. T

Obligatory NYC taxi cab shot
17 October 2011
Am in NY for a few days with The Fly, so I thought I'd rub it in with a rather unimaginative post of our cabbie from Burkina Faso. I have this auto-response mildly autistic music thing that occurs sometimes in a variety of situations and here's the theme that plays in my mind whenever I'm in a cab here or sometimes even when I see one, which can be very repetitive and annoying.

Kid Koala - Brainer Magazine - Up!
05 October 2011
Brainer has this wonderfully curated content that features loads of the stuff I love. Always a fan of an open brief, I swanned down to Ninja Tune to shoot Kid Koala and this furball of joy awaited me. Have a peep at this and a rummage around Brainer, if you're busy procrastinating like myself right now. Maybe do it listening to an old tune like this. Outstanding.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for Nike
03 October 2011
The main pressure in my job I think is not getting the shot, but getting the shot in the time allowed. Everything is always such a rush. I'm always being hurried to wrap up. Imagine my delight when the power tripped in the sockets we were using and scuppered 90 seconds of my 4 minutes in Niketown. I did however have the remarkable fortune to be assisted by Vicky Dawe on this, who scrambled into action and had another battery powered Elinchrom Ranger pack fired up and hand held in record time. She's brilliant, as was the rising star at Arsenal, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who nailed everything we wanted (and was cool about our momentary anguish).

Ellie Goulding in Niketown
02 October 2011
She sang really bloody well, looked great and runs a lot apparently, hence the show in Niketown. Slice were in charge of production and nailed it wonderfully. Nice event.

Daniel Lismore for MTV EMAs
02 October 2011
The most incredible look and visually stunning tranny of the day, I thought anyway. Tranny doesn't seem quite descriptive enough really but it's the understood terminology and anyway, Daniel Lismore shazammed me with his combination of McQueen, vintage, make up, trinkets and complete conviction producing an image that seemed to come from the 17th century classics from the National Portrait Gallery.
