At V2009 in Chelmsford she looked incredible. I was always stunned by her talent (I first shot her at Virgin Megastores years ago) and all that other stuff didn't matter I didn't think, until it did of course. My most hated thing is waste and her early demise is such a colossal, tragic waste.

Brittabeaan portrait shoot
Wrestling with the elements a tad at the end of a fruitful weekend, here's a glimpse of the set up. Elinchrom Ranger, Skyport, big softbox, ropey white sheet and loads of gaffer tape. Perfect. Shot by Ed Bartlett.
Scissor Sisters backstage at Lovebox
If Pete's experiment is working. Though if attention grabbing, eye catching, gob smacking looks are the intention, the man is definitely succeeding.
I'm not sure...
Am now bugging that I didn't shoot Beth Ditto first time round with The Gossip but here she is, in a Be Here Now outtake and man do I regret all the more missing the boat with her. She's smashed the crowd to bits, received so much love and was wonderful to everyone who had contact with her, me included. Thank you Beth.
Beth Ditto at Lovebox 2011
I've just had a right result. Am backing up the shots from Lovebox, where we were side stage shooting for Be Here Now. Jameela Jamil was hosting and very obligingly stepped up to the plate to 'test my lights'. She's ace. Then The Doggfather, the legend, Snoop Dogg did the same, before and after his killer show. I'm buzzing. This project still excites me every time, and getting the calibre of Snoop on board will do wonders I bloody hope. Apologies for not releasing the image yet but we're holding loads back for the launch. It'll be worth it I swear.
Enormous score tonizzle.

Germain Burton
The future king of British cycling. Cool guy and huge talent, not to mention his muscles upon muscles. Shot for the wonderful Rollapaluza which is really good fun, if you enjoy short bursts of energy with an hour of nausea to follow.

Now how about that.
Band of Horses in Classic Rock Magazine. Yup.
Beautiful looking and sounding London based fun from Big Deal. Could be worse.
Big Deal, yeah?
Lots of shoots this day but a lunchtime pie, pint and portrait at the Newman Arms was never going to be my worst day ever. Richard Hawley, what an artist. The whole deal here.
Richard Hawley for Mojo/Gibson/Glenfiddich
Take my word for it, I now know.
Cerebral Ballzy properly don't give an arse
Skanked around the corner from the Fly office and nabbed a quick moment with Rory, aka Warm Brains. Shot him for about 9 minutes and came away with a heap of winners. Please note added warmth. Super cool guy and don't be fooled by those sweet cheeks - he's heavy alright.
Rory 'Warm Brains' Attwell
Yuck's Jonny Rogoff. Coming to a 110000 magazines near you soon. We love you Yuck, please grace my lens again soon.
Yuck
This guy! Very possibly the most I've ever enjoyed myself on a shoot. Keith Lemon arrives in character and it doesn't slip for a second, the same as when I shot Avid Merrion (his previous incarnation) a few years ago. Hilariously indiscreet, gloriously up for anything, he nailed the shots in about 3 minutes and the rest were just for fun. See it on pack in Tesco's. Shot in the lovely Studio Private in Shoreditch.

I was a punter at Wireless (not typical Tom) at 2pm on Saturday to see the opening act (again, rather unusually), the incredible Janelle Monae. She's so unbelievably awesome. Sorry to repost but I shot Janelle for Be Here Now last December when she supported Vampire Weekend and man, it was such a stunning peformance - just when you think you've seen the lot, someone comes along and cleans your glasses for you, then slaps you for being a cynic. I hope she becomes the biggest thing in music, just for having such style, energy, cool, flair...
It's happening for Janelle (at last)
Horrors for July Fly
Witness my chubby self making photo party with Black Lips in this well crafted edit. I don't remember the bubbles but there they are. Why you'd watch this when there's so much other stuff out there (I've never seen Citizen Kane, know what I mean?) but you won't know that til too late probably. See you at the Oscars or Cannes, ahem.
